How dream of have you been doing this?
I got interested in high school; I was probably 14 or 15 (in the antediluvian 1960s). For Christmas I received a kit -- cast your own soldiers. I've been doing it ever since. I go from the Colonial duration to World War II.
You told me that the soldiers' uniforms, gear and weapons are spot on target. Where do you get your information?
Books, museums or online. I spent the last two weekends at re-enactments, one at Sound Farm and the other one in Conneaut. I talk to the re-enactors, and I photograph their stuff.
The first grit that I did in real detail was a guards' regiment from England. My research was from the Imperial War Museums London, and I took photos and notes and all that affable of stuff.
They let you take photographs?
They did then (in the early 1960s).
